John 15:5-8: "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in
them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who
parts from me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches
are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you stay joined to me and my
words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!
My true disciples produce much fruit. This brings great glory to my Father."
John 15 is one of those chapters we could read each day! We need to be
continually reminded to remain in Him and that only He can produce the fruit
that brings glory to the Father. But how can we remain in Him. As I was
reading this passage I kept thinking of John 1.
John 1:1-5: "In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God.
He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is. Nothing
exists that he didn't make. Life itself was in him, and this life gives light
to everyone. The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never
extinguish it."
The branch needs the sap from the tree to flow through in order to have life
and produce fruit. And that life is the Word. As we remain in His Word each
day we are remaining in Him!!! Nothing is made without that life just like we cannot produce fruit without
remaining in Him.
John 15:5"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me,
and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
